Installed 7 plugs in the living room and kitchen in the master bedroom -- installed a 2 gang box and a switch for a switched receptacle in the basement -- ran a 20amp circuit for the bathroom GFCI installed a whole house surge protector in the main panel We called Michael & Sons when we wanted to upgrade some electrical “situations” in our 1960s-era house. Michael & Sons sent an electrician named Joey D. over. In addition to being capable and efficient---he was cheerful and friendly too. He put booties over his shoes when he entered our house, and he even brought his own mat to wipe his shoes on! Joey was able to upgrade every “situation” we had. Joey gave us an accurate estimate for each task, and then got straight to work---he was finished in short order. He explained everything while he worked, so we were not surprised by anything crazy found under the drywall. He was able to run wires quickly and he was tidy. And best of all, everything works. We’re very happy with the work he did!

The circuit breaker for the furnace would not reset. Service Tech checked the furnace and the circuit breaker, determined the breaker needed replacement and performed the service in a timely manner. I was given a service window of 10 AM to 2 PM. Service Tech Sean Eversburg called at 10, said he would be there in 15 minutes. He showed up on time, was professional, neat and thorough in his inspection of the furnace and the breaker box. I was not pressured to buy additional parts or services as I have with my previous AC/Heating Company. I would definitely call this company in the future.

We unfortunately suffered a small house fire, and this is the service that was recommended to check the wires involved in the fire. He was quick and checking the wiring in the walls, and other outlets in the house for safety. We were so impressed with his knowledge; it immediately made us trust him as a contractor. He did some education on some issues and I think that is just as important as fixing the problem. We then put him on as a preventative contractor for our heating and air conditioning. Believe me from our prior experience we have experienced some of the worst. One outfit, the repair person did not fix an item properly with the AC and we suffered water damage in our entire house. So having a quality HVAC person is very important to us.

The fire department advised us to consult an electrician to see if there was any damage to the wiring in the wall from the fire. The repair person came and cut a small piece from the wall and conducted a test and found the wires were not melted in the wall. He then went on to check all the outlets in the downstairs, which one was faulty. He replaced that outlet, and also instructed us where our next fire may start, and gave advice on that issue. Highly recommend them.

We had a clogged tub drain and a constantly running toilet. The service was excellent. The tub clog was a bit complicated but he stayed until we were satisfied. Job well done.

I hired them to replace some valves on the main shut-off valve of the pipeline in home as well as a few other things. They did a good job and worked quickly. They arrived on time, provided a reasonable price and stuck to it. Their estimate came a couple hundred dollars under the next lowest bid.

The heating & AC duct work in our 1999 townhome was improperly installed by the builder during original construction; during recent duct cleaning by another company, we discovered that our home builder used shoddy workmanship when connecting the ducts and sealing the seams. As a result of the poor work by the builder on the duct work, when we recently installed a new air handler and heat pump system, we did not achieve the expected energy savings and efficiency. We hired Michaels to seal approximately 8 duct seams and ensure the system was appropriately connected and sealed and as efficient as possible. Toan Vo and Ryan Hguyen of Michael and Sons spent about 2 hours realigning the ducts and sealing the seams with new tape. They also went above and beyond by removing a great deal of trash and debri our builder had left behind; obviously the builder cut corners and didn't even remove sheet rock remnants, unused pieces of insulation, and building material garbage. It was an excellent experience working with Michael and Son. Toan Vo inspected our system earlier this week and gave us a thorough estimate, and he scheduled the work for just a few days later. We were very impressed by the timeliness and quality of their work. It is a shame we had to pay a contractor to finish the shoddy work originally done by our builder, but this was money well spent. Now, we are confident that we will enjoy the benefit of our new high efficiency heating and cooling system. We will use Michael and Son again and recommend them to others.

Removed existing bathtub and wall board with tile surrounding the tub; replaced it with a shower pan and replaced the appropriate plumbing fixtures The entire process went smoothly from start to finish. An appointment was made for them to make an estimate; they arrived on time and gave me a proposal before leaving my home (unlike another plumber who was late for the appointment and never did give me an estimate nor return an e mail I sent as a follow-up). Since I was obtaining several other proposals I held off committing to them for a week or so. When I did give them the go ahead, the project was scheduled in a timely manner; the plumber arrived on time and stayed until the job was totally completed even though he ran into several unexpected problems. I have had my heat/ac system replaced and the installer and tech were wonderful. Today I had a major electrical problem and it was diagnosed and repaired within 1 hour and done at my convenience. The tech called me to confirm the time and he was really a pleasure to work with. His name is Ron Rosales. I was more than pleased with the results. He really knew what he was doing. I plan to have more work done in my home by Michael &Son because as a result of my experiences so far. They have so many services to offer and there warranties are the best in the business. I discovered that I had a major problem with the main water line coming into my house.  A different plumber uncovered the problem, but the type of job was too big for them to handle.  I called several  companies, but Michael and Sons was able to schedule someone to come to my house and give me an opinion and estimate the same day.  The person who came initially, Chris Gooding, diagnosed the problem (realize, I had to have the city shut my main water off due to the severity of this leak) and offer a quote.Further, he scheduled the job for the next day (a Saturday) and waited until he could confirm that I would have a team there the next day to dig up the line, replace it and give me water again.  The crew (4 licensed plumbers) came the next morning, as scheduled, got right to work, carefully dug the line up (by hand, preserving plants, sidewalk, etc).  They were absolutely professional, talked me through the probable reasoning for the line break initially and worked really had to replace, seal, fix, and turn my water back on.  I can not compliment these guys enough, they knew what they were doing, used the right materials and equipment, were neat in their work and operated as a team to fix the problem.  Outstanding. I would refer Michael and Sons to anyone looking for a large, professional plumbing company to either install new plumbing, repair existing plumbing and/or diagnose a problem.  Professional, polite, clean and fast.  Really outstanding.  I have already recomended them to neighbors who are having plumbing issues.

We had an emergency water situation, with water running from the upstairs bathroom through the kitchen ceiling light fixture.  Let me also say this was at 12:00 midnight.  I called Michael and Sons and a very nice dispatch operator took information and someone called within 10 minutes to say they would arrive in 30 minutes.Ryan came and was able to immediately assess the situation (clogged drain), and offered a fix that we felt was a reasonable price. He snaked the clogged drain, cleaned and resealed the plumbing.  It required removal of some drywall but was small and neatly cut.  This eliminated all additional water in the ceiling.Great job.  We we done by 3:00 am and went to work within a few hours.  Ryan was very professional and excelled in his job.  I would definitely use them again if necessary.  In addition, their prices were less expensive for the emergency service, which we greatly appreciated.

Everyone has had the experience of taking advantage of an advertised special only to find that when all was said and done that it was no special at all.In our case we have a circa 1980 boiler in our house and needed to have it checked before winter was upon us. We heard on TV that Michael & Son was offering a special on heater inspections and called them to see if boilers were included. To our utter amazement they were.The person I talked to in my initial research was very polite and tried to upsell me on several things but was not in the least pushy or hard sell when I declined the other services. I made appointment and he assured me that the technician wouldcall me before arriving and that the appt would be between 8 and 12noon the next day.That night (10/10/12) I received a polite call confirming the appt again and letting me know that the tech would call before he arrived.A 8:45 I got a call confirming that the tech was on the way.Al Henderson arrived at 9:15, dawned his blue booties and set to work inspecting my monster boiler. Al was polite, friendly, very informative as to how this monster worked and professional as I could hope for. He cleaned it, scrubbed built up soot <sp> from the gas nozzles and inspected the system for pressure, leaks, CO2 issues, and temperature.When all was said and done he handed me a bill for $69 and thanked me for my business. No surprises, no gotchas, no issues.I can't tell you the number times I've taken up a company on a listed special and been put through the wringer fending off a list you need "this's." This WAS NOT my experience with Al and Michael & Son. Thank you Al for your honest, friendly service, you rock!!!!I would use them again in heartbeat. Honest, timely, professional and courteous.

Five years ago, we had a short in the main electrical panel for our house. We called Michael & Son to repair the problem. At that time, they replaced the entire panel and upgraded the circuits where necessary. We are now selling our house, and the home inspector saw the work and had some minor objections; wrong screws to hold the panel in place, a connector not wrapped completely, etc. Anyway, I called Michael & Son and they sent someone out to correct the problems listed at NO CHARGE! They even arranged for the county electrical inspector to come. They have been very accomodating, prompt, understanding and thorough. Everyone I've dealt with at the company has been great. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. We have over the years used them for other problems we've had with plumbing, and that has gone well also.

I needed a new dryer outlet because my old one was doing who knows what.  The electrician came out at the time promised, fixed my outlet, and even gave me a new dryer cord for free, and he even put it on the dryer too.  I have honestly never met a friendlier person in my life, especially when it comes to home repair men. I have an old house, so I know I'll need an electrician again, and I will definitely be calling them back in the future.

This is a long overdue thank you letter- starting with Frank Disbrow who came to our cold home and arranged for entire furnace/heat pump replacement on Jan 21st. Frank is extremely thorough- answered many questions, came by during installation and later in follow up. The installers-HOA and Tien were amazing in their care and cleanliness in a very long day of taking out the old and putting in the new unit. Greg, the electrician, was also thorough assuring electricity was complete and safe, properly connected.


Frank also arranged for duct cleaning, which was performed by Clark. Surprisingly, the air ducts (that had never been cleaned in the 31 ½ years of being in this home were not horrible.


We have enjoyed heat since Jan 21st, and want to thank one and all for the great service provided. We will certainly recommend you company to other who may need furnace/heat pump replacement.

This email is being sent to recognize and commend one of your technicians.  I recently experienced a serious emergency water leak in the crawlspace under the house.  After getting an unexpected high quote from a plumbing company, I decided to call the insurance company.  You guessed it, my claim was denied.  I was told that since there was no damage to the house my policy did not cover the leaking pipes.  Since this was a major repair that could not wait, I called Michael & Son Services.  The repairs needed were thoroughly explained to me by your employee, Shane Jones.  Mr. Jones not only knew what was needed but was extra helpful in explaining my options in an attempt to save me money. I decided to have it done right the first time.  Mr. Jones arrived early the next day and began the work.  He was joined by another employee later in the day.  Mr. Jones assured me they would stick with the job and finish that day however long it took.  Mr. Jones courtesy, professionalism, honesty and committment in his business dealings on this assignment was exceptional and should be singled out for recognition.  Please provide a copy of this email to Mr. Jones and other employees as an example of the type of employee Shane Jones is, as my experience with him has revealed. An Impressive Service Call

I always say that operating a successful business isn't about one magic bullet; its about doing many, many little things properly. I watched a very good example of this unfold before my eyes which emphasizes to me the difference these small details can make to a business. If you're not generating enough referrals, then take note.

Recently, I called a plumbing company, Michael & Son Services to take a look at a leaky faucet in my kitchen. Just for the record, I am pretty handy around the house, but couldn't figure this one out. The faucet was leaky and also wasn't functioning properly. Who should should I call? I really want this to be an hour -long project and not an all day event!

I didn't see anything in the mail, no one was on TV when I watched the morning news, no one was on teh radio on my way to get the morning coffee, and none of my neighbors could recommend a plumber. So I did what any family man with limited time would do, I googled it.

The search brought up the Michael & Son website. It was informative, professional, and had useful content. I was on the site for ten minutes. I read the testimonials, service specialties, and submitted my information online. The quick submittal form on the top of each page made it easy. Compared to other plumber sites brought up in my search, this one was the most infomative and easy to navigate and it encouraged me to submit my information.

When they called me in a timely fashion, I was impressed. A nice person introduced herself to me by telling me her name. She sounded happy and asked how she could assist me. When I told her my situation, she repeated it back to me with concern and named a person that would personally help me. she was interactive and gathered information from me, inquired about a convenient time for me and my wife, and then explained in detail how the process would work. She politely asked if I would be willing to be contacted by email with future discounts or events, and I replied yes. This call set some high expectations and I came away confident I made the right decision.

Thirty minutes before the appointment, the service representative, Daniel, called and identified himself and said he was on his way. Nice! When he arrived in a vehicle with a logo, a company uniform and a friendly handshake, I let him in. Before he entereed my home, he put plastic covers over his shoes and put down a floor mat with the company logo to wipe his feet on. I thanked him for the consideration. Immediately I felt at ease and confident. The little things were adding up in the company's favor.

The company technician identified, explained and corrected the problem. There were a few challenges that were not his fault, but since I understood what he needed to do, I felt comfortable with the end result. He finished after an hour, and as he did, he handed me a survey card. He asked if I was satisfied and requested I fill it out so he could put it in my mailbox. He handed me a marketing kit/brochure and told me about the other services the company offers, and also asked for permission to put a magnet on our fridge for any future service needs and told me I should consider a service plan they offer.

In reviewing the call, I realized it was a simple service, but they did so many little things right. The business was easy to find and was high on the internet listings. They did have an informative website with a quick and easy way to schedule an appointment and the initial phone call to set an appointment was thorough, friendly, and interactive.

I was very impressed with the fact that the entire process was a system. It started with the online form, then moved on the the return call, the courtesy call before the technician arrived, the shoe covering and the floor mat, and great communication. A system! The end of the appointment marketing kit, request for the fridge magnet, explaining the other services they offer, telling me about their service agreement ( selling more services ) and survey card. A system! I could see that there was training involved. It was obvious in a good way.

The only areas where I see room for improvement is with adding a blog and using social media to allow potential customers to get to know the company. It would also been nice to receive a "how to refer us" marketing piece. However, they still did many little things properly to encourage a referral. Now, if I receive a follow up phone call and find out my neighbors have received a postcard to make them aware that Michael & Son provided service to their neighbor, it would tell me the company's marketing is really effective.

Dear Mr. Mansour

I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you how pleased I am with the work of your plumber completed earlier this year at my home in Quantico VA.

Our daughter and her family are living in the home in Quantico and we decided to renovate the 53 year old bathroom. As you can imagine, bringing up to code a bathroom presented us with some unexpected challenges. Of course, no challenge seemed too great for your team! Johnny did a great job switching the hot and cold in the tub area, identifying some moist joints, and moving a hot water heater made a necessity when the breaker needed to upgraded from 100 amp in order to replace a twice re-glazed tub which we did decide to replace. Removing the old tub revealed the rotted joints and rotted under-flooring that your workers were able to remedy, and in a very timely manner, with the handyman department working until 9pm on night and 11pm the second night. The Handyman Department manager, Gus, was most professional in providing estimates and explaining the necessary work and almost magically getting things scheduled immediately!! This house has only 1.5 bathrooms and access to a working bath is essential, something they definitely understood. Gus was so dedicated that he was calling me at home, and my daughter at the house to check on the status of repairs even as he was recovering from dental surgery.

The extra commitment to getting the job done and in doing a good job means that there is no other company that I will consider when I have plumbing, electrical or remodeling needs. Please thank all of the workers at Michael & Son who made this complex job such an easy and happy experience.

This past Saturday evening I had the misfortune of having my kitchen sink drain stop up. I called a local plumbing service that I had used before, but they were closed for the weekend, it was about 4pm.

I remembered seeing ads for Michael & Son on TV so I quickly looked up your number , and you were happy to come out and fix my plugged up drain. As we all know, the people who work for us, are a representation of our firm. I had the GOOD fortune of having a wonderful plumber arrive at my home to take care of this situation. What a wonderful addition hi is to your company. He was efficient, polite, neat, friendly and so very professional. So my Saturday ended up a happier note due to Michael & Son’s plumbing department.

We were delighted with your technician that you sent us on April 1, 2010 and would like him (Michael Lucas, Accokeek, Md.) registered as our "PERSONAL PLUMBER". Dear Basim,

In early February of this year our 20+ year old HVAC system failed. The repairman that came out to fix the problem suggested that I purchase a new system. So, I contacted several companies, including Michael & So, to get some quotes. Of all the companies that gave us quotes, Michael & Son’s had one of the best. However the reason I choose M&S was because of the salesman, Frank Disbrow and the description he gave of your companies commitment to customer satisfaction.

The commitment was tested shortly after our new HVAC system was installed.

After the new system was installed, I noticed a vibration coming from the blower that caused a rattling noise whenever it was on. I called Frank in the morning to tell him about it and by the afternoon a repairman from M&S had stopped by and fixed it.

Overall, I’ve been very pleased with my new HVAC system and the service provided by M&S. I will happily recommend M&S to others.

Your representative, Shawn Stout had come and outlined the procedure to follow. There was quite a lot to do to get the proper placement for the generator. It took considerable coordination with our company, the propane company, Miss Utility and the county inspectors.

Shaw was very adept at handling all of this. We could not have done it without him. Your company can be proud of Shawn as a representative.

When the big snow of 2010 came, the last of the work was done on that Friday morning, Feb. 19 around 11:30am. All work completed and the generator worked. On Saturday morning, Feb 20th, the power went out. We looked at each other, took a deep breath and then the generator kicked on. It stayed on until the following Monday afternoon.

We asked Michael and Son to undertake a laundry list of electrical upgrades/fixes/installations over a period of three and a half days. One electrician installed a whole house surge arrestor, pigtailed all our aluminum wiring (half the house), installed CFC circuits in bathrooms/kitchen/outside, installed five interconnected smoke detectors, installed seven recessed lights, installed one closet fixture, installed a new circuit (more power for computers/vacuum), installed a ceiling fan, installed outside lights (after fixing broken wire), re-wired four coax circuits (took out all the extra cable and set up 'plugs' in the wall for our TVs), and installed a new light fixture in the basement.

We had one electrician (Matt Rogers) over the three and a half days. He did a superb job. He arrived early each morning, went straight to work. He was working in just about every area of the house but kept his material collected in one area and was extremely carefully to clean up as he finished each project. Each evening he reviewed with us the work completed and the work scheduled for the next day. He worked with us on selecting locations for lights and advising on appropriate fixtures. We were extremely impressed with his knowledge of aluminum wiring, lighting, coax, power consumption and the rest. This was a complicated job -- Matt just took it one job at a time and was able to get everything done in a fairly short time. We are extremely pleased with the work and would highly recommend him to others.

Michael & Sons electrical division did work to rewire my electrical panel for safety concerns and provided new lines for my recently remodeled kitchen. They also rewired every outlet in my house with new wiring and installed new updated rocker switch plates. They exposed a couple of problems and were very honest about whether it was an immediate problem or could wait. They were very professional, neat and kept all appointments. They also installed new light fixtures in my bathrooms. Their handyman division followed up and patched the holes in my walls and repainted. It looks perfect.
Went very smoothly. I would definitely use this company again.

Our entire basement flooded when our sump pump failed. Sami from Michael and Sons was out within 4 hours after we made the first desperate call. He replaced the sump pump motor then came back the next day to make sure it was working OK. He was very professional and very responsive.

I have used Michael and Sons on several occasions. Their plumbers are great and they have told me it is a good place to work. It shows. Their prices are competitive and if someone thinks they are high they should get 3 estimates and compare. I have done that. They are professional, show up when they say they will, answer the phone promptly and explain in detail what they are going to be doing. This time, the plumber came out, gave me a diagnosis, and snaked the toilet with an auger. and snaked and snaked and snaked. It took a long time and it appeared nothing was going to work and nothing was coming out, but he stayed with it to save me the time and expense and mess of pulling the toilet. His instincts were good and finally it cleared and is working like it normally does. Could not have been a better experience. I will use them again.

They fixed the lights in my kitchen because they just stop working. It was a total of four lights. They charged me a very good price and they were very professional. We were out of town and there was some very bad weather at home, when our sump pumps failed and the basement flooded. They assisted in getting to old carpet out and also found asbestos underneath it, which we had someone else come in a remove. They were very reliable in our time of need.

Michael & Sons cut pipes out, installed new lines, moved our water lines and replaced with the proper pipes. They also did some gas work for us, installing a new gas line from outside to new manifold and from the manifold to the gas furnace and then to the kitchen for our new range. The plumbing work was about $1600 and the gas work was also about $1600.  We called Michael & Sons to repair the plumbing work another company had done. Michael & Sons corrected the mistakes and did the work efficiently and courteously. We were very pleased with the results. They had also installed some new gas lines before for me and did a great job with that as well.

They came to install a new hot water heater for my three bathrooms. The unit holds approximately 50 gallons of water. The one that I had was twenty years old and was ready to go. They took the old one out and replaced it in about two hours. They also worked on some of my faucets.  When I needed them, I called them and they came right away. They looked at what they had to do for a while, gave me an estimate, and started to work. Everything was very fast.

Installing a 16K Air-cooled Generator at my residence. This task required a knowledge of gas & electric codes for the proper installation of this product.  The technicians who install this product knew exactly what they were doing. They arrived at my residence before the designated start time. They had all the right parts and tools. They did the installation in one day. They were courteous and did not mind explaining what they were doing and how they were doing it. They clean up the job site and left everything as it was before they got there.
